The Texas A&M Center for Applied Technology, a component of The Texas A&M University System (collectively, “we”, “us”, and “our”), are strongly committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy governs our treatment of the personal information provided by or collected from you in connection with your use of the Study Data Manager (SDM) application (the "Application").

Types of Information We Collect About You

We may collect personal information from you when you create an account in the Application or when you utilize the Application. This information may include your name, email address, and cell phone number.

How We Use Your Information

We may use your personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, with your consent, for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject, for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, or for our internal purposes such as data analysis, data aggregation or de-identification, and research.

Disclosure to Third Parties

Data confidentiality is of the upmost importance to us. When you use the Application, your personal information may be accessed and used by our partners or other third parties (e.g., communications dispatch centers, emergency medical services, and first responders) in order for the Application to operate as intended. If you choose to enable Third-Party Applications (defined below) (e.g., maps data providers) integrated in the Application, those Third-Party Applications may collect your personal information.

We do not sell your personal information. Your personal information will never be shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Your Controls and Choices

We provide you with controls and choices regarding the collection, use, and sharing of personal information by the Application. At any time, you may stop the collection, use, and sharing of your personal information by uninstalling the Application from your mobile device.

You may also disable certain features within the Application through your account settings or the settings on your mobile device. However, if you disable the geolocation features or push alerts/notifications, the Application will prompt you to re-enable these features as they are necessary for the Application’s proper operation.

Protection of Personal Information

We are committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information the Application transmits, processes, and retains. Please be aware that, although we implement the most current and rigid standards to provide security for information we transmit, process, and retain, no security system can prevent all security breaches. We make no representation or warranty that the security system we utilize will prevent a security breach, in whole or in part.

Integrity and Retention of Personal Information

We make it easy for you to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date. At any time, you may change your personal information in your account through the Application. We will retain your personal information in accordance with applicable law and for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, including our internal research purposes. We may delete your personal information upon your request if we are not required to retain it by law or for other legitimate purposes.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected the personal information of a child under the age of 13, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.

Third-Party Applications

Components of the Application may contain links to external third-party websites, content, products, or services (“Third Party Applications”). In such cases, the Third Party Applications are not under our control. We are not responsible for the contents of any Third Party Applications or any link contained in a Third Party Application, nor are we responsible for the privacy practices of the operators of those Third Party Applications. For questions or concerns, please refer to the privacy policies of the Third Party Applications.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to alter this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted here so that you will always know what information the Application collects, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone.
